WHO WE ARE
At Mindful Steps, our staff of professional and caring Board-Certified Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians are dedicated to improving the quality of life for those we serve by providing compassionate behavioral intervention in both home and school settings.
We value relationships and rapport with our learners and families above any programs or rules that we put in place.
WHAT WE DO
Through the use of proven ABA therapy techniques, we offer individualized assistance to children ages 18 months-21 years, who have autism, developmental disabilities and behavior challenges to help improve specific behaviors. We also work directly with caregivers to provide support and guidance for continued learning.
From developing daily living skills to addressing severe problem behaviors, our team is committed to helping individuals and their families make progress towards their goals by prioritizing parent training, most functional goals for our students and helping minimize the stress and emotional strain on caregivers. Through our individualized and focused approach, Mindful Steps helps teach the following:
OUR MISSION
We aim to improve the lives of individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and other behavioral challenges through compassionate behavioral therapy. We are committed to teaching socially significant behaviors using evidence-based and family-centered interventions.
OUR VISION
We strive to continue to learn progressive, holistic interventions to best service our learners and their families through meaningful and individualized treatment.
WHAT IS APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS (ABA)?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy strives to increase socially significant behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors. ABA uses motivation, variables in the environment, and positive reinforcement to change behavior. Decades of research validate treatments based on ABA.
More simply, ABA therapy is used with individuals to improve specific behaviors including social skills, communication, adaptive learning or daily living skills, and many others. We like to say that if we can see it, we can treat it.
